The first University of Mary baseball player to earn NCAA all-region honors and 1st team All-Northern Sun recognition, Michael Feldman remains one the Marauders career batting leaders who also was a dynamic presence on the mound.

A Bismarck native and graduate of St. Mary’s Central High School, Feldman played every position for the Marauders in his career before settling mainly in the outfield and at catcher and pitcher as a senior. Feldman made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2005, hitting .325 with a .542 slugging percentage and winning two games on the mound. He hit .322 as a sophomore in 2006 and kept producing as the Marauders transitioned to NCAA Division II and the Northern Sun for the 2007 season, hitting .319 with an impressive .593 slugging percentage while adding a pair of wins and two saves on the mound.

Feldman’s 2008 season was one for the ages. Three times he was named the NSIC Player of the Week on his way to earning All-NSIC honors. The senior set career highs in batting (.410), on base percentage (.471) and slugging (.723) while hitting 16 doubles and 10 home runs with 38 RBIs. He won the NSIC batting championship with a .452 average. He also won four games and had a save. He was honored with second team all-region honors from both Daktronics and ABCA/Rawlings. He ranks second all-time at UMary in hits (186) and doubles (41), third in home runs (24) and runs batted in (105), fourth in runs scored (124), and fifth in batting average (.349).
