FARGO, ND – A dominant day in the jumps headlined the University of Mary women's track & field efforts at the Bison Open. Marauders posted the top three marks in both the long and triple jumps while earning three NCAA provisional qualifying marks and eight titles overall on the day.
All-American
D'Andra Morris claimed the triple jump with a top mark of 12.11 meters. The NCAA provisional qualifying mark is her top effort of the season.
Arianna Passeri (11.39) and
Cali Modglin (11.31) finished right behind Morris as the Marauders swept the top three slots in the triple jump.
The Marauders proved even more dominant in the long jump, securing the top four slots. Passeri led UMary's efforts with a mark of 5.59 meters.
Taylor Weidner placed second (5.53m) and Morris (5.46m) and Modglin (5.41m) were right behind.
Elizabeth Acheson had an outstanding day in the 800. Running the event for the first time this season, Acheson claimed the title with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:15.08.
Taylor Hestekin produced the Marauders third provisional qualifying mark of the day. The junior All-American ran the mile in 4:58.23 to place third overall. Hestekin also claimed third in the 1000 with a clocking of 2:57.34.
Bonet Henderson fell just shy of sweeping the sprints. The sophomore won the 200 meter title with a clocking of 25.33 seconds in her first time running the event this season. She placed second in the 60 meter dash as her time of 7.72 seconds was a scant .02 seconds off the top mark.
Ava Grimm and
Alli McCoy finished 1-2 in the 400 meter finals. Grimm was clocked finishing in 59.29 and McCoy was timed at 59.85. McCoy would also add a third place finish in the 200 (26.35).
Tereza Bolibruch blazed her way over the barriers to win the 60 meter hurdles in a time of 8.82 seconds.
The 4x400 meter relay team of
Morgan Hertz,
Courtney Dembrowski, Racheal Neu and Acheson ran a 4:00.90 to place first.
The Marauders next compete at home in the Marauders Winter Festival and at South Dakota State's Indoor Classic in Brookings, SD, on Saturday, Feb. 13.
