BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary men's track and field started the new year with a home win at the Marauders 2025 Indoor Opener. Victories in six events were earned on the day.
Freshman and Bismarck's own
Lucas Kupfer took home two of those wins in both the long jump (7.05m) and triple jump (13.97m). His winning marks are 5
th and 6
th in the Northern Sun standings. Kupfer also took part in the high jump and placed second with a score of 1.95m.
On the track side,
Xavier Ifill earned two wins for the second straight meet. Ifill was victorious in the 300m dash with a time of 34.78 and was a member of the winning 4x400m relay team with
Akil Howell and both Osvaldo and
Osiel Cano. The relay team finished with a time of 3:24.10.
In the first action of the season for UMary's distance runners, freshman
Joseph Ringhand won the mile with a time of 4:29.82.
Rounding out the wins,
Jorgen Paulson had the best time of the day in the 200m with a mark of 22.22. He was also second in the 60m dash with a 6.84 time.

UMary track and field will stay at home next weekend as well. The Marauders will host the UMary Winter Classic on Saturday, Jan. 25, at the University of Mary Fieldhouse and Wellness Center.
