BURNSVILLE, MN – After starting the outdoor season with a pair of wins at the Marauders Outdoor Opener, University of Mary track and field sprinter
Mark DeArmond was named the NSIC Track Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.
DeArmond was victorious in both the 100m and 200m on Saturday with personal bests in both events. The sophomore ran a 10.70 in the 100m and a 21.65 in the 200m. Both times are currently the best in the NSIC.
The week prior, DeArmond made his first career appearance at the NSIC Championships, competing in both the 60m and 200m.
The Alaska native is the second men's track and field athlete to earn a weekly award from the NSIC this year, joining freshman
Colby Fleck.
The Marauders will be heading to Montana on Saturday, Mar. 28, for the Yellowjacket Open hosted by MSU Billings.
