VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – It was a historic day at the NCAA Championships for University of Mary men's track and field sophomore
Kenny Moxey Jr. With personal best marks in the final three events of the Heptathlon, Moxey Jr. set a new school record and finished 3
rd overall to end the indoor season as an All-American.
DAY 1 RECAP
The second day of competition began with the 60m Hurdles and Moxey Jr. 2
nd in the overall Heptathlon standings. He went on to place 3
rd and cut 0.05 seconds off his personal best with an 8.23.
His next PR came in the Pole Vault, where the sophomore soared over the bar at 4.35m, beating his previous best mark by 0.05m. He was 9
th in the event and went into the final portion of the Heptathlon in 3
rd place overall.
In a gutsy 1000m Run performance, Moxey Jr. passed five competitors on the final lap to finish 8
th, maintaining his 3
rd place overall spot and securing an All-American. His final time of 2:56.14 was over five seconds faster than his previous best mark.
Moxey Jr. finished the weekend with 5,454 points, smashing his own school record by over 200 points.
