UMary men’s track and field wins Yellowjacket Open, Erickson breaks record

BILLINGS, MT – The University of Mary men's track and field team won the Yellowjacket Open behind seven individual victories and a school record from Sean Erickson.

The school record was set in the Hammer Throw, as Erickson launched a 54.23m throw. The previous record was held by Tad Harman and had stood since 2012. The junior placed 2nd in the event. Erickson won the Discus as well with a 51.68m.

Lucas Kupfer reached an NCAA provisional mark in the High Jump, clearing a height of 2.06m. He won the event and currently ranks 4th in the nation.

All-American Kenny Moxey Jr. picked up the win in the 110m Hurdles with a PR of 14.84.

Senior Dawson Hawkinson picked up a win in the 200m with a PR of 21.34 as he made his outdoor season debut.

Jack Koppelsloen was victorious in the 400m Hurdles as he hit a PR of 54.73.

Gideon Hammah, the school record holder in the 1500m, won the event with a 3:53.13.
