ABERDEEN, SD – Led by a pair of victories by
Chriss-Ann Thomas, the 5
th ranked University of Mary women's track & field team rolled up seven wins in a productive day at the Northern State University Open.
Thomas claimed titles in both the 200 and 400 meter runs. In the 200 her time of 24.89 seconds won the event by 0.79 seconds. In the 400, she narrowly edged her teammate
Elizabeth Acheson. Thomas was clocked in 57.28 seconds with Acheson right behind in second place with a time of 57.71 seconds.
In the 800 meter run the Marauders claimed the top three slots.
Taylor Hestekin won the 800 with a time of 2:17.17. Right behind was
Taryn Ceglowski (2:17.46) and
Courtney Dembrowski (2:17.52).
Bri Erickson had an impressive win in the 1500 meter run, crossing the finish line in 4:49.06. Placing second was teammate
Reid Shiland in 5:02.49.
Abigail Jones (11:15.32) was the top finisher in the 3000m steeplechase with
Starlynn Costa in second (11:35.36).
The 4x400 meter relay quartet of
Morgan Hertz,
Rachael Neu,
Ava Grimm and Acheson posted a time of 3:59.71 to win the event.
Arianna Passeri was the Marauders lone winner in the field events, winning the triple jump with an effort of 11.44 meters. She also took 4
th in the long jump (5.54m).

The Marauders next compete at the Grand Valley State Meet in Allendale, MI, on April 30-May 1 and the Ron Masanz Classic in Moorhead, MN, on May 1.
