DICKINSON, ND – Competing collegiately for the first time in over a year, University of Mary All-American
Ida Narbuvoll crushed a school record and established a new state record for Norther Dakota while racing at the Dickinson State University Blue Hawk Games.
Racing collegiately for the first time since the 2020 Northern Sun indoor championships and outdoors since the 2019 NCAA cross country championships, Narbuvoll was electric. The All-American from Norway crushed the UMary school record in 10000 meter run by nearly 15 seconds with a clocking of 33:32.69. The former school record was 33:47.44 by 3-time national champion Alexis Zeis. Her effort is also the best mark ever recorded on North Dakota soil.
Narbuvoll owns the nation's second-best time in the 10K and is automatically qualified for the NCAA Division II championships.
Also setting a school record was
D'Andra Morris. The All-American exploded for an effort of 13.24 meters, which us not only a new school record in the triple jump but also the nation's best mark this season. She is now automatically qualified to compete at the 2021 NCAA championships.
Cali Modglin claimed second in the triple jump with a leap of 12.07 meters, her best effort of the season and an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Morris also had another big day in the long jump. The Kingston, Jamaica, native placed first with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 6.11 meters.
In addition to Morris, two other Marauders posted NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the long jump.
Lexus Lovan finished second overall with an effort of 6.08 meters with
Arianna Passeri in third at 6.00 meters. Modglin missed the provo standards by .02 meters, finishing 4
th after hitting a jump of 5.78m.
Chris-Ann Thomas generated a pair of first-place finishes for the Marauders. She claimed first in the 400 meter dash (57.12) and the 200 meter dash (25.21).
Kayla Ogle raced her way to a win in the 800, posting a clocking of 2:21.31.
Taryn Ceglowski captured an easy victory in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:45.68 to win by over 21 seconds. Teammate
Taleigh Adrian was second (5:07.28) with fellow UMary runners
Teresa Blote (5:11.99) and
Ellen Moore (5:18.93) placing 3-4.
Nicole Kramchynsky outthrew the field in the shot put, hitting on an effort of 12.97 meters to place first.
Faith Docker led an impressive effort by the Marauders in the javelin as UMary took four of the top five places. Dockter finished first with a toss of 41.08 meters.
Kayla Stroh claimed third (34.46m), Kramchynsky finished fourth (33.93m) and
Shantelle Rule finished fifth (30.58m).
Dockter (35.35) and Kramchynsky (33.61) finished 3-4 in the discus.
The Marauders also had several other top 5 finishes at the Blue Hawk games:
- Ava Grimm was second in the 400 (59.86) and 4th in the 200 (26.53)
- Passari was third in triple jump (11.32 meters)
- Lacey Feist claimed second in the 10000 meter run (37.29.62)
The Marauders are next set to compete at the Northern State Spring Games in Aberdeen, SD, on April 24.
