KEARNEY, NE –
Phillip Springsteen pinned three of his four opponents and
Tate Barnhardt captured three wins as the #22 University of Mary wrestling squad faced its toughest team challenge of the season at the Midwest Duals. Taking on three nationally-ranked opponents and another receiving national attention, the Marauders captured one match on the day.
Tenth nationally in NCAA Division II in falls, Springsteen looks to make a big leap forward in the standings after dispatching three of his opponents by pin. His closest match of the day was a 5-3 win in the Central Oklahoma match.

Rudy Guillen, ranked #4 at 149, finished 1-1. The sophomore suffered a 4-2 loss to #7 Will Steltzen of Central Oklahoma in the first match. Guillen later rebounded to defeat Nate Trepanier of Lindenwood 6-4.

The Marauders opened the Midwest Duals with a 28-13 loss to #13 Central Oklahoma. Leading 13-11 after Springsteen pinned Mason Thompson at 6:55, Central Oklahoma claimed the last four weight classes to win the match.
UMary's lone win of the day was a 21-15 victory over Central Missouri in the second session. Jumping out to a 12-0 lead after a forfeit and a Barnhardt pin at 133, Cronin pushed the lead to 15-0. A Springsteen win increased the Marauders advantage to 18-6. After the Mules closed to within 18-15,
Dominic Tudor edged Chase Miller 2-1 in the 285 match to secure the Marauders victory.
Looking for a second straight win, the Marauders suffered a heartbreaking 20-18 loss to #23 Lindenwood. Following back-to-back wins by pins from Springsteen and
Austin Eichmann, UMary held an 18-10 advantage with three matches remaining. After Lindenwood earned 2-0 and 2-1 wins at 184 and 197, the Lions completed their rally when Jacob Borgmeyer, ranked 11
th in the country, claimed victory at 285.
In their final bout of the day, the Marauders jumped out to a 16-11 lead over #17 Western State behind pins from
