GREENWOOD, IN – Following his tremendous success on the mat and in the classroom,
Lane Ewing was named a 2025-26 Academic All-America ® At-Large First Team All-American as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). This is the first time Ewing has claimed a spot on the prestigious CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-America® team.
The Douglas, WY, native is one of only seven Marauders to ever earn first-team Academic All-America® honors from CSC/CoSIDA. Ewing owns a 3.96 GPA while majoring in Cybersecurity. Ewing had previously earned the NSIC Elite 18 award and was named UMary's 2026 Male NSIC Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Ewing had a stellar redshirt sophomore season, earning All-American honors after placing third in the 2026 NCAA Championships. He finished runner-up in the 2026 NCAA Super Regional V.
Ewing joins Alyssa Becker,
Reece Barnhardt, Isaac Pegors, Lexie Schneider, Victoria Murillo, Cal James, D'Andra Morris, Elizabeth Achison, Ida Narbuvoll, Andrew Beyer, and John Oyloe as the only CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in UMary NCAA history.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District® and All-America® consideration, a scholar-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CSC has bestowed Academic All-America® honors to student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
