Competed in nine dual meets and at the NSIC Conference. ABERDEEN, SD 10/07/2017 Sam Putti, a freshman from Farmington Hills, MI, took third in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.45 seconds. MOORHEAD, MN 11/19/2016 Also winning an individual event for Mary was Sam Putti, who took the 50 yard freestyle in 27.17. ROCHESTER, MN –12/5/16 The Rochester Invitational On the 200 yard freestyle relay, the team of Nelson, Moriarty, Sam Putti and Murphy dropped their best time to 1:43.17. MOORHEAD, MN 1/15/17 five finishes to place fourth overall in the six-team Dragon Invite. Sam Putti qualified for the finals in the 200 yard freestyle, winning the B section in a time of 2:03.62 that placed her seventh overall. Her time of 57.35 seconds earned her eighth in the 100 yard freestyle. BISMARCK, ND 1/21/16   In the freestyle Murphy, Karyssa Nelson, Moriarty and Sam Putti claimed spots three through six. 2/7/17 opening day of the 2017 Northern Sun Swimming and Diving Championships. The Marauders earned their final points of the conference championships opening day in the 200 yard medley relay. The foursome of Karyssa Nelson, Meghan Mokhtary, Elizabeth Moriarty and Sam Putti combined to place 11^th with a clocking of 1:52.02.Marauders efforts for the second straight day. 2/8/17 Fellow freshman Sam Putti competed in the 200 freestyle C-Final and placed 20th overall with a mark of 2:01.65. In the preliminaries she swam a personal-best time of 2:00.43.  For the third straight day at the 2017 Northern Sun Swimming and Diving Championships, 2/9/17 The Marauders placed two relay teams in the top 12 of the 800 yard freestyle relay. Murphy, Andrews, Sam Putti and Boese set a new team record with a time of 8:05.93 to place 8^th. For the second straight semester, Sam Putti representing the Marauders earned the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team honors after posting a team grade point average of 3.50 during the 2017 spring semester. Sam contributed to the program in the freestyle and backstroke events.

Team captain at Wylie E. Groves High School in Birmingham, Michigan, Samantha "Sam" Putti made the state cut in both the 100 free and 50 free as a sophomore, junior and senior. She helped her team to fourth place in state as a sophomore and has earned her team's Coaches Award. Putti also competes for BBD Swimming. A multi sport athlete, she competes in track as a sprinter and bowling, where she is also a team captain, and has earned three letters in both sports. A nursing home volunteer and a member of the National Honor Society, Sam is the daughter of Felicia Putti and Jon Putti and will major in marketing at the University of Mary.
 
"Samantha comes from a very close knit family and has some great leadership skills that will help us develop our team chemistry," said Marauders head coach Allan McCallum. "She will be a contributor for us in the sprint freestyle and backstroke events. It will be fun to work with Sam and watch her development."
