Biography

2017-2018
Competing against Minnesota Moorhead, Schiefelbein finished 5th in the 100 backstroke. Against Augustana Schiefelbein finished 5th in both the 100 & 200 backstrokes. In the dual meet against Northern Schiefelbein finished 4th in the 100 backstroke. Swimming the 1000 freestyle against Concordia College Schiefelbein finished in 2nd place and had a 3rd place finish in the 100 backstroke as well. At the Dragon/Cobber Invite, Schiefelbein had finishes of 14th in the 500 freestyle, 8th in the 100 backstroke, 14th in the 1650 freestyle, & 6th in the 200 backstroke. During the Dragon Invite Schiefelbein helped the team to a 2nd place finish by placing 7th in the 1650 freestyle, 13th in the 100 backstroke, 10th in the 1000 freestyle, 14th in the 500 freestyle, & 16th in the 50 backstroke. Taylor Schiefelbein had a nice finish to her season place 16th at the NSIC Championships in both the 1650 freestyle (18:32.75) and the 200 yard backstroke (2:14.59). Taylor had a great first season with the Marauders Swimming and Diving swimming backstroke and distance freestyle events.

PRIOR TO UMARY
Four-year letter winner at Campbell County High School… Placed 3rd in the 100 backstroke and 5th in the 500 freestyle at the high school state meet as a senior... competes in the 100 yard backstroke and the 500 yard freestyle… Top times: 100 yard backstroke (1:00), 500 yard freestyle (5:24.0). Daughter of Rebecca and Cory Schiefelbein… Majoring in math and chemistry.

She has the ability to make an immediate impact in our backstroke and middle distance freestyle events. Taylor has had a great high school career and we definitely feel that she has a lot of potential as a college swimmer.
