Biography

2017-2018
Katie had a great second season with the Marauders Swimming and Diving swimming breaststroke and sprint freestyle events. During the dual meet against Concordia College, Arens placed 4th in the 50 breaststroke and helped the team to a dual meet victory. During the Dragon Invite, Arens placed in the consolation finals on the 100 breaststroke helping the team to a 2nd place finish. 

2016-2017
The Mary 200 yard freestyle relay team of Sarah RappBrittny Dye, Erin Nestorick and Katie Arens claimed 13th with a time of 1:55.54 on day two of the NSIC championships. For the second straight semester, Katie Arens representing the Marauders earned the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team honors after posting a team grade point average of 3.50 during the 2017 spring semester. Katie contributed to the program in the freestyle and breaststroke events.


PRIOR TO UMARY
Katie Arens grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN and was a member of the Detroit Lakes High School varsity swim team. Where she was a team captain while competing in the breaststroke and individual medley events. She is one of the founding members of Fellowship of Christian Athletes at UMary and is active in the community volunteering with Friends of the Poor.
