Summary

Biography

2020-21 (Junior)
Running the indoor 3k and 5k in the same day was a new challenge for distance runners for the 2020 indoor NSIC conference. Starlynn Costa ran both along with her teammates Lacey Feist, Ellen Moore, and Abigail Jones. Every point mattered that day, and every runner was hungry for points after a year of no competition. The commitment made during indoor carried over into outdoor, where Costa and her steeplechase teammate, Jones, ran (and hurdled) the race of their life, both putting points on the table and taking home some new personal bests. Costa ran the 3k Steeple in 11:00.6.

2019-20 (Sophomore)
At her first Cross Country Nationals race in Sacramento, California, Starlynn placed 69th in a field of 260 talented runners. She also placed 11th at the Central Region in Joplin, Missouri. It was during this season she grew a lot closer to her running sisters through the ups and downs. Win or lose, that sense of sisterhood and family never went away.

In Mankato, Minnesota, Starlynn ran a fair race in the 3,000 meter run. She earned six points for her team who won their third straight indoor conference title.

2018-19 (Freshman)
The change of scenery can be exciting, but also overwhelming for a new freshman runner. Starlynn was able to make it through the season in good health, but mostly this season was a time of learning and adapting. Her best 6k of the season was a 22:08. She 21st at the NSIC Conference Championships, just one place off from medaling.

Starlynn took 6th place in the 3k at the NSIC indoor conference with a personal best of 10:08.

The outdoor season is Starlynn’s favorite season of the year. Finally, she got to race the steeplechase. Her best time was 11:06 and even though she would have liked to have run faster at the conference, she is excited to improve in this thrilling event.
