2020-21 (Redshirt Junior)
Cross Country was cancelled due to Covid-19
Hestekin started off the indoor campaign with two wins in the first two meets of the season, first in the 1000 and the following week in the mile. Taylor continued to find success during the championship segment of the season by earning herself two Top-4 finishes at the NSIC Indoor Conference Championships including a 2nd place (All-Conference) finish in the 1000. To complete the indoor season Hestekin earned Second-Team All-American Honors at the NCAA DII Indoor Track Championships where she finished 9th in the Mile Run.
Continuing to find success on the track, Hestekin kept the momentum she had following her indoor season and carrying it to the outdoor season. At the NSIC Outdoor Championships, Taylor was able to help the Marauders win their 3rd consecutive title. Hestekin brought 10 points to the Marauders with her 5th place finish in the 800 and also her 3rd place (All-NSIC) finish in the 1500. Finishing off the season, Hestekin competed at the NCAA DII Outdoor Championships where she was able to finish 12th place in the 1500 earning herself Second-Team All-American Honors.
2019-20 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Hestekin continued the success from last year’s cross country season by starting the season off with a 2nd place finish at the Dragon Twilight. During the championship segment of the season Hestekin was able to help the Lady Marauders to their 4th straight conference title with her All-Conference effort placing 6th. Taylor earned her second straight All-Region award placing 19th and helping the Marauders to a 2nd place finish. Hestekin was also a scorer on the Marauders National Championship team where they placed 5th as a team.
In her first indoor season in two years, Hestekin had a strong showing during the indoor track & field season. Taylor was a member of the nation’s fastest DMR time which they ran at the Stinger Open. Later in the season, Hestekin earned two All-Conference accolades at the NSIC Indoor Championships where she was 2nd in the mile and a champion in the 1000m run. Taylor was set to compete in the DMR at the NCAA DII Indoor Championships before the meet was cancelled.
2018-19 (Sophomore)
In her first career cross country season, Hestekin found early success at the Moorhead Twilight where she placed 4th and helped the Lady Marauders to victory. A few weeks later at the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota Hestekin again placed in the top 10 finishing 8th helping the Lady Marauders to victory. At the NSIC Championships Hestekin helped the Lady Marauders to a near perfect score where she placed 4th and the team won their 3rd straight conference championship. A few weeks later Hestekin would help the Marauders win their 3rd straight Central Region Cross Country title by finishing 23rd place and earn her first All-Region Cross Country accolade. In the final meet of the season, Hestekin would earn her first cross country All-American accolade where she would finish 29th and help the Lady Marauders to a runner-up finish at the National Championship in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Hestekin redshirted the indoor season.
After sitting out the indoor season, Hestekin had a strong showing in her outdoor campaign for the Lady Marauders. She ran a season best time of 2:11.91 in the 800m at the Mt. SAC relays in California. In the final regular season meet of the season Hestekin ran a personal best time of 4:32.64 in the 1500m run at the Howard Wood Relays. At the NSIC Outdoor Championships Hestekin scored 16 points to help the Marauders win the outdoor conference crown by winning the 1500m and a third place finish in the 800m.
2017-18 (Freshman)
In her first season at the University of Mary Hestekin was able to earn her first Northern Sun All-Conference award at the indoor championships in the 800m run. Qualifying for her first National championship, Hestekin earned her first All-American award running the 800 leg of the Distance Medley Relay where her and the other Marauders earned a 4th place finish.
After a strong indoor campaign, Hestekin continued to find success on the outdoor track. In the first race of the season, she was able to pick up the first of two victories on the season at the South Dakota Invite. The second victory came at the end of the year where she won her first NSIC title in the 800m run. Closing out a successful first year at UMary, Hestekin snagged a second team All-American spot at outdoor nationals in the 800 where she crossed the line in 12th place.

High School
During her high school career, Taylor has placed in the top 8 at the North Dakota Class B state meet a total of 12 times (2015-7th in 400m, 800m, 4x400m relay, and 4th in the 4x800m relay, 2016- 3rd in 800m and 400m, 5th in 4x800m and 4x400m relays, 2017-5th in 400m, 3rd in 800m, 7thin 4x400 relay, 3rd in 4x800 relay).
Her senior year she also received the Southwest region senior athlete of the year award.
Personal
Graduate of Scranton Public school in Scranton, North Dakota, Taylor Hestekin is the daughter of Jay and Cindy Hestekin. She is currently majoring in History Education.
