BISMARCK, ND – It will be a busy weekend for the University of Mary men's and women's track and field team. UMary will be hosting the Al Bortke Classic from April 10 to 12 at the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, ND, while sending athletes to compete in the NDSU Spring Classic in Fargo, ND, on April 11 and 12.

LAST TIME OUT
It was a big day for the Marauders at the Yellowjacket Open on March 28, with both teams winning the meet. On the women's side,
Kelescia Downes (200m),
Tayen Werner (400m),
Aspen Eslinger (400m Hurdles),
Kristine Kalthoff (1500m),
Faith Jepchumba (5000m),
Anna Bruno (Long Jump, Triple Jump), and the 4x400m Relay team of
Sydney Elsner,
Bernadette Belzer,
Anna Tisch, and
Kate Van Erp all took home victories.
Siena Lambert also broke the school record in the Hammer Throw.
For the men,
Sean Erickson (Discus),
Lucas Kupfer (High Jump),
Kenny Moxey Jr. (110m Hurdles),
Dawson Hawkinson (200m),
Jack Koppelsloen (400m Hurdles), and
Gideon Hammah (1500m) all won their events. Erickson also broke the school record in the Hammer Throw.

ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Mark DeArmond earned his first NSIC Athlete of the Week honor after a strong performance at the Marauders Outdoor Opener. DeArmond won both the 100m and 200m races with PRs and ranked 1
st in the NSIC in both events at the time.
Kelescia Downes had a great showing at the Yellowjacket Open, earning NSIC Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career. She set two PRs, winning the 200m and finishing as the runner-up in the 400m with NCAA provisional times in both events.
