BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary track and field team will be present at the Gary Wilson Invitational and the Drake Relays this week before hosting the UMary Senior Day Open on Sunday.
Marauders will be competing at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, IA, on April 22 and 23, as All-American
Kenny Moxey Jr. has entered for the Decathlon and
Kristine Kalthoff will take part in Thursday's 5000m.

The Gary Wilson Invitational is hosted by the University of Minnesota on April 22 and 20 distance athletes will be representing UMary.

The Marauders will recognize their seniors during the UMary Senior Day Open on Sunday, April 26 (subject to change). The meet will be held at the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, ND.

LAST TIME OUT
The Marauders competed in four different events last week, three of which were in California.
Gideon Hammah set school records in the 800m (1:50.52) and 1500m (3:48.64).
Ryan Koberoski won the 800m at the ULV Leopard Invitational.
At Dickinson State's Blue Hawk Games, wins were achieved by
Mark DeArmond (100m), and
Nick Lind (5000m). The Marauders also won the 4x100m and 4x400m Relays.
The women's team performed well in California, with improved NCAA provisional times from
Kristine Kalthoff (10000m),
Laila Cleare (100m, 200m),
Kelescia Downes (200m, 400m),
Tayen Werner (200m, 400m),
Tionce Walrond (400m), and
Faith Jepchumba (10000m). The 4x400m Relay team of
Kelescia Downes,
Laila Cleare,
Tionce Walrond, and
Tayen Werner now ranks 5
th in the nation.

SCHOOL RECORDS
Throwers
Sean Erickson and
Siena Lambert have both broken Hammer Throw records this season. The men's record was held by Tad Harman since 2012. The women's record had stood since 2014 and belonged to Stephanie Fey. Erickson and Lambert went on to improve upon their marks.
Gideon Hammah set two school records at the Bryan Clay Invitational. He broke Jesse Bennett's record in the 800m that had stood since 2012. The sophomore followed that with a record-breaking performance in the 1500m, breaking his own mark from last year.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
UMary women's track and field entered the USTFCCCA TFRI Rankings at 22
nd in the fourth weekly release. The Marauders moved up 11 spots after a successful week in California.
ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Mark DeArmond earned his first NSIC Athlete of the Week honor after a strong performance at the Marauders Outdoor Opener. DeArmond won both the 100m and 200m races with PRs and ranked 1
st in the NSIC in both events at the time.
Kelescia Downes had a great showing at the Yellowjacket Open, earning NSIC Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in her career. She set two PRs, winning the 200m and finishing as the runner-up in the 400m with NCAA provisional times in both events.
Laila Cleare was named the NSIC Athlete of the Week after finding success in California. Cleare tallied the 11
th best 100m time in the nation at the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate and the 18
th best 200m time in the nation at the Bryan Clay Invitational. She also was a member of the 4x400m Relay that earned the 5
th best time in the nation.
