BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary men's track and field sophomore
Gideon Hammah had a weekend to remember in California while his teammates performed well at the Blue Hawk Games in Dickinson, ND.
CALIFORNIA RECAP
Gideon Hammah now owns four UMary track and field records after a stellar performance at the Bryan Cole Invitational in Azusa, CA. The sophomore broke a record that had stood since 2012 in the 800m on Friday, April 17. Hammah crossed the finish line at 1:50.52. That is an NCAA provisional mark and ranks 48
th in the nation.
On Saturday, the sophomore got through the 1500m in 3:48.64. That mark broke his own school record.
PRs were set in California by
Ryan Koberoski (800m, 1:53.02),
Joseph Ringhand (800m, 153.48 | 1500m, 3:58.40), and
Jack Koppelsloen (400m Hurdles, 54.53).

Mark DeArmond won the 100m at the Blue Hawk Games with a 10.54 finish.
Nick Lind won the 5000m with a 16:11.45.
The relay teams performed well, as
Josiah Pena,
Dawson Hawkinson,
Mark DeArmond and
Colby Fleck teamed up for the 4x100m relay and won at 41.14.
The 4x400m team consisted of Hawkinson, Pena,
Izaak Kudrna, and
Avery Harms. Their victorious time was 3:30.35.
