DICKINSON, ND – The University of Mary men's track and field remained unbeaten in outdoor competition with a win at the Blue Hawk Games in Dickinson, ND. Earlier in the week,
Raheem Taitt-Best had standout performances at the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Pacific Coast Invitational in California.
BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
Raheem Taitt-Best improved his national standing in the 400m dash with a 3
rd place finish. His time of 46.88 now puts him 14
th in the nation in the event.
The 4x400m relay team of
Osvaldo Cano,
Osiel Cano,
Xavier Ifill, and Taitt-Best just missed out on a school record with a time of 3:11.67. The Marauders placed 4
th in the event (3
rd among D2 schools).
PACIFIC COAST INVITATIONAL
On Thursday, Taitt-Best tied his season-best in the 200m dash with a 20.88. The junior placed 2
nd and had the best time among D2 athletes. He is currently 20
th in the nation in the event.
BLUE HAWK GAMES
Jorgen Paulson won the 100m dash with a time of 10.57, just beating out teammate
Michael Cartwright who ran a 10.66. Paulson also won the long jump with a 7.23m mark.
Joseph Ringhand won the 800m run at 1:56.87, an outdoor best for the freshman. Right behind him was
Ryan Koberoski at 1:57.97.
Diego Andres-Dougan won the 110m hurdles by over a second with a 14.44. The junior also won the triple jump with a 14.38m leap.
UMary took home the win in the 4x400m relay as
Ethan Hendrickson,
Julian Pompa,
Joseph Ringhand, and
Berkley Munnings ran a 3:26.09.
Sean Erickson made it five discus victories in as many tries with a 49.10m throw. He also set a PR in the javelin with a 50.35m mark, finishing 3
rd.
Another multi-meet week awaits UMary track and field. The University of Minnesota Invitational is on Wednesday, Apr. 23, and the Bison Open in Fargo, ND, is on Friday, Apr. 25.
