BILLINGS, MT – The University of Mary men's track and field team made it two wins in a row to start the outdoor season with a victory at the Yellowjacket Open in Montana. There were a total of seven events won by Marauders athletes with
Raheem Taitt-Best claiming victories in two of them.
Taitt-Best got things started in the 200m dash with a 20.81 to top the leaderboard. He was followed by
Xavier Ifill (20.95), and All-American
Jorgen Paulson (20.97). All three times are NCAA qualifying times with Taitt-Best's currently sitting fourth in the nation.
His time in the 400m dash was 47.28, which was the best of the day and an NCAA qualifying mark.
Xavier Ifill was in second with a 48.02.
Paulson won the 100m dash with a PR of 10.58, his third victory of the outdoor season in three separate events. Following Paulson in second was
Michael Cartwright at 10.67 and
Izaak Kudrna in third at 10.87. Cartwright and Kudrna also had personal bests in the event.
Osiel Cano won the 400m hurdles with a PR of 53.97. The senior was followed by
Berkley Munnings (54.17) and
Emanuel Latawiec (56.85) in second and third, respectively. Munnings and Latawiec both set new PRs with their marks.
The 4x400m relay team of
Osiel Cano,
Izaak Kudrna,
Osvaldo Cano, and
Raheem Taitt-Best won with a 3:22.18.
In the field events,
Hayden Von Wald won the long jump with a 7.24m leap.
Sean Erickson won the discus with a PR of 48.94m, his second straight victory of the outdoor season in the event.

Tomorrow, a group of distance runners will be in Pueblo, CO, for the Chuck Hearing Invitational. The Marauders return home next weekend for the Al Bortke Open on Apr. 5.
