FARGO, ND – The UMary men's track and field team ended up in the top half of the pack after two days of competition at the Bison Open.
Jorgen Paulson had two NCAA qualifying performances and there were five top-five finishes by the Marauders.
Paulson, a senior, had his best day of the season with a win in the 60m dash and a second-place finish in the 200m dash. He set a personal best of 6.79 in the 60m and had a season-best time of 21.89 in the 200m.
Paulson moved up to 43
rd in the nation in the 60m dash and 32
nd in the 200m dash. He is currently top-five in the Northern Sun in both events.
Joseph Ringhand continued his strong freshman season with his first go at the 1000m run. Ringhand placed third in the event with a time of 2:34.61. In fifth place was his sophomore teammate
Max Lefor with a personal best of 2:38.84.
Charles Tomczik competed well across the two days in the heptathlon for UMary, placing fifth in the event. He had a 2
nd place finish in the 60m hurdles (8.97), a 4
th place finish in the 1000m (3:01.29), and was 3
rd in the shot put (10.59m) to highlight his two days in Fargo.

Up next for the Marauders will be the SDSU Indoor Classic in South Dakota on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 14 and 15. After that, UMary concludes the indoor regular season with the Marauders Tune-Up on Feb. 22.
