WEST FARGO, ND —
Samantha Sheridan led the way for the University of Mary swimming and diving team on day one of the 2025 NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships. UMary is currently in 8
th place in the standings with 81 team points.
Samantha Sheridan placed sixth in the 1000 free after she recorded a time of 10:38.42.
The team of
Madeline Desmond,
Elise Altringer Peyton Wunderlich and
Maria Strong finished eighth in the 200 yard Medley Relay with a time of 1:48.90.
Teresa Cavanaugh,
Katherine Ryan,
Sarah Bernasconi and
Kamya Smith combined for 16
th place, recording a time of 1:52.38.
Maria Strong took 15
th in the 50 free, posting a time of 24.33 in the finals.
The Marauders "A" team of
Samantha Sheridan,
Michaela Desmond,
Elise Altringer and
Felicity McCallen grabbed 8
th place in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:59.88. The UMary "B" team of
Teresa Cavanaugh,
Gabrielle Evanson,
Lola Sheridan and
Amber Norgaard (8:10.27) finished 15
th.
Augustana University leads the competition with 242.5 points, followed by Minnesota State University, Mankato (234), University of Sioux Falls (164), St. Cloud State University (159.5), Concordia University, St. Paul (107), Minnesota State University (104), Southwest Minnesota State University (83), UMary (81) and Northern State University (58).
The Marauders return for day two of the NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday, February 13, in West Fargo, ND. Prelims begin at 10 am and finals are set for 5:30 pm.
