ST. PAUL, MN – Racing in one of the most prestigious meets in the country,
Alyssa Becker and
Andrijana Fundak posted top 10 finishes for the University of Mary at the 2022 Roy Griak Invitational.
Becker led the Marauders with a 4
th place finish in the Suzy Wilson Women's Maroon 6K race. The All-American completed the 6K course in 22:05.0 in her first effort at that distance this season. Running 7
th after the first mile, Becker improved three slots at the halfway point and kept her positioning. The native of Seabeck, WA, had placed 3
rd at Griak in 2021 while leading UMary to the team title as a freshman.
Fundak posted her strongest result as a collegian. The sophomore from Richland, WA, finished 10
th out of 382 NCAA Division II and Division III runners in the Maroon division with a clocking of 22:50.7. Fundak moved up two slots over the final 1,0000 meters.
Ellen Moore checked in third for UMary, placing 34
th in 23:46.1. Senior
Teresa Blote placed 63
rd overall in 24:16.1.
Kristine Kalthoff rounded out the team scoring for UMary after finishing 71
st (24:25.7).

Ranked 14
th in the country, the Marauders placed 6
th in the team standings with 177 points in the 30-team meet. Minnesota Duluth captured the team title with 65 team points, followed by Winona State, Wisconsin-La Crosse, Michigan Tech, Sioux Falls and UMary.
The Marauders will compete inside North Dakota for the first time this season when UMary next competes at the Jimmie Invitational on Oct. 7.
