JOPLIN, MO – University of Mary women's cross country finished in the top half of the field, claiming 14
th out of 35 teams at the NCAA Central Region Championships.
Terez Wycklendt, as she has throughout the season, led the Marauders individually.
The senior placed 32
nd overall, just outside of All-Region consideration, with a time of 22:02.68. The finish is a 25-spot improvement over last year for the Wisconsin-born runner.
Tori Stepka earned her first postseason finish in 79
th at 22:46.79. Junior
Hannah Westin was next in 82
nd with a 22:50.13. The tight grouping behind Wycklendt continued with
Giselle Jahner placing 93
rd at 23:00.04 and
Ellyn Engels rounding out the scoring in 97
th with a 23:01.51.
Track and field season begins for the Marauders on Dec. 5 with the Mike Thorson Alumni Classic.
