BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary women's cross country started the year with a 2
nd place finish at the Marauders Home Opener. All five point-scorers placed in the top-20.
Tori Stepka led the way for the team, finishing the 6k course at McDowell Dam in 21:36.4. The junior cut almost 40 seconds off her PR as she began her second season of competition.
Following her was senior transfer
Amanda Overgaauw, who started her third competitive cross country season with a 7
th place finish. The two-time NCAA Championship qualifier clocked in at 22:21.1.
Giselle Jahner was next for UMary, finishing 14
th with a time of 23:03.1. Senior
Hannah Westin placed 16
th with a 23:06.6. Junior
Cierra Bornemann rounded out the scoring for the team in 19
th with a 23:40.7.

The Marauders will be back in action in two weeks as they travel to Sioux Falls, SD, for the Augustana Invitational. The meet will take place on Sept. 25 from Yankton Trail Park, the site of both the NSIC Championships and NCAA Central Region Championships.
