BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary men's track & field team enters this weekend's 2022 Northern Sun outdoor championships looking to make forward strides in the standings similar to those made during the indoor season. The NSIC meet is scheduled to run Thursday through Saturday, May 12-14, in Aberdeen, SD, at the Swisher Activities Complex.
UMary finished fifth both indoors and outdoors in 2021. The Marauders improved to 4
th at the 2022 indoor meet in March and hope for similar improvements outdoors.
The Marauders return a trio of all-conference performers from last May.
Isaac Huntington won the 400 meter dash, UMary's lone title at the meet.
Astley Davis was the triple jump runner up and currently ranks 13
th in the nation in the long jump.
Jesse Kaas returns after claiming 3
rd in the 5000 meter run. The four-time All-NSIC runner scored indoors in the 3K and 5K.
The decathlon and heptathlon competitions open the championship meet on Thursday before concluding on Friday. Individual events begin Friday with running events at 10 am and field events at 12:30 pm. Championship Saturday starts with field events at 11 am and running events at 1 pm.
