SPEARFISH, S.D. –
Jordan Washington led the University of Mary men's indoor track and field efforts at the Black Hills State Dave Little Alumni Mile meet. The senior placed second in the 400 meter dash.
Eleven teams were scheduled to compete in the meet.
A native of Katy, Texas, Washington posted a time of 51.19 in the 400 meter dash to finish as the runner-up. His time is fifth in the Northern Sun this season.
Chase Dixon placed in the top five of two different events. The senior claimed third in the 60 meter hurdles with a mark of 8.47 seconds. He then claimed third in the 200 meter dash in a clocking of 23.24 seconds.
Aaron Teigen also claimed two top-five finishes. The senior from Rugby, N.D., claimed third in the long jump with a mark of 6.67 meters. He also added a fourth place finish in the triple jump after posting a best mark of 13.65 meters.
Jerrod Shaffner edged out Teigen in the triple jump, placing third after posting a top effort of 13.65m.
In the 800 meter run,
Nathan Inkman and
Steven Gordon placed 3-4 with times of 2:00.30 and 2:01.51, respectively. With a time of 1:25.46 in the 600 meter run,
Mitchell Meyer was fourth.
Chris Jessop claimed fifth in the mile run in 4:26.0.
In the high jump,
Joe Berger took fourth (1.94m) and
Hwang Lee fifth (1.89m).
The Marauders next compete at the Concordia Invitational in Moorhead, Minn., on Feb. 1, 2014.
