BISMARCK, ND – University of Mary women's track and field had a strong weekend at home at the three-day Al Bortke Classic. NCAA provisional marks were hit in four events by the Marauders.
Tionce Walrond did so in two events, finishing with a 23.87 in the 200m. That ranks 18
th in the nation and is 1
st in the NSIC. She is also 24
th in the nation in the 100m now after finishing with an 11.69.
Walrond joined
Kelescia Downes,
Tayen Werner, and
Laila Cleare in the 4x100m Relay, winning with a 45.20. That ranks 6
th in the nation and is just shy of the school record.
Anna Bruno now ranks 9
th in the nation in the Long Jump after reaching a distance of 6.02m to win the event.
All-American
Laila Cleare won both the 100m and 200m with wind-aided times of 11.14 and 23.32, respectively.
Aspen Eslinger hit a new PR in the 400m hurdles at 1:02.86.
Faith Jepchumba won the 5000m by nearly a minute with a 17:13.33.
The 4x400m Relay team of
Bernadette Belzer,
Anna Tisch,
Aspen Eslinger, and
Sydney Elsner was victorious with a 3:58.84.
Siena Lambert broke her own school record in the Hammer Throw with a 51.08m throw, placing 2
nd.

At the NDSU Spring Classic,
Kaydee Boyce and
Anna Rader competed in the Heptathlon, with Rader holding the 4
th spot in the standings after four events. Boyce was 7
th and won the Shot Put leg of the event.
Sophie Olsonawski earned a PR in the 800m at 2:15.44, placing 3
rd.
The Marauders will be heading to California later this week to compete at the Bryan Clay Invitational and Cal State LA Twilight Open.
