Bruno named to Academic All-America 3rd Team for 2025-26

GREENWOOD, IN –  Following a season that concluded at the NCAA Championships, University of Mary track and field junior Anna Bruno was named a 2025-26 Academic All-America® At-Large Third Team All-American selection by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). This is the first time Bruno has claimed a spot on the prestigious CoSIDA/CSC Academic All-America® team.

Bruno, originally from Seneca, IL, is one of two Marauders to earn Academic All-America® honors this year, joining wrestler Lane Ewing. The jumper tallied a 4.00 grade point average in her Music Performance major. She was also a member of the NSIC's All-Academic Team of Excellence this year.

In competition, Bruno earned All-Conference honors in the Long Jump by finishing third at both the indoor and outdoor NSIC Championships. She was able to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the second time in her career, finishing 14th in the nation to earn Second Team All-American honors.

Bruno joins Ewing, Alyssa Becker, Reece Barnhardt, Isaac Pegors, Lexie Schneider, Victoria Murillo, Cal James, D'Andra Morris, Elizabeth Acheson, Ida Narbuvoll, Andrew Beyer, and John Oyloe as the only CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in UMary NCAA history.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District® and All-America® consideration, a scholar-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CSC has bestowed Academic All-America® honors to student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
