WEST FARGO, ND —
Maria Strong shined for the University of Mary swimming and diving team on day two of the 2025 NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships. UMary jumped to 7
th place in the standings with 135 team points.
Maria Strong posted a time of 57.52 in the prelims of the 100 yard butterfly to advance to the "A" final. Strong then finished 8
th after recording a 57.90 time in the finals.
Competing in the "B" final,
Peyton Wunderlich (56.98) and
Madeline Desmond (57.76) took 10
th and 11
th in the 100 fly.
The team of
Madeline Desmond,
Elise Altringer, Wunderlich and Strong finished eighth in the 400 yard Medley Relay after posting a time of 4:01.93.
Teresa Cavanaugh,
Katherine Ryan,
Michaela Desmond and
Felicity McCallen took 17
th with a time of 4:08.13.
Augustana University leads the competition with 436.5 points, followed by Minnesota State University, Mankato (410), St. Cloud State University (328.5), University of Sioux Falls (296), Concordia University, St. Paul (208), Minnesota State University Moorhead (197), UMary (135), Southwest Minnesota State University (124), and Northern State University (102).
The Marauders return for day three of the NSIC Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday, February 14, in West Fargo, ND. Prelims begin at 10 am and finals are set for 5:30 pm.
