BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary men's track and field team took home a third place finish at the UMary Winter Classic. The Marauders put on a show in the long jump taking the top four spots in the event.
Leading the way in the long jump was
Hayden Von Wald with a score of 7.34m.
Jorgen Paulson followed with a 7.23m jump. Both are NCAA qualifying scores. Fresh off his first collegiate victory, freshman
Lucas Kupfer placed third with a 7.08m jump.
Logan Wentz rounded out the top four with a 7.04m mark.
Paulson also improved his national rank in the 200m dash with his second-place finish in the event. His time of 21.94 places him in 20
th in the nation.
UMary had a strong showing in the 600m dash.
Joseph Ringhand, who had his first collegiate victory last week in the mile, placed second with a time of 1:23.69. He finished neck-and-neck with teammate
Osvaldo Cano, whose time of 1:23.71 landed him in third.
Ryan Koberoski placed fourth with a time of 1:24.35.
In the high jump, freshman
Will Mickelson placed second with a 1.87m mark.
Mason Marquart was in fifth with a score of 1.72m.

A trip to Colorado is next for the Marauders as they will take part in the Mines Winter Classic and Multi hosted by the Colorado School of Mines. Competition will begin on Friday, Jan. 31, with the heptathlon and pentathlon concluding on Saturday, Feb. 1.
