UMary women win Marauders 2025 Indoor Opener behind impressive distance runners

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary women's track and field team put together another complete performance at the Marauders 2025 Indoor Opener. With the distance runners making their indoor debuts after an extended cross country season, the Marauders were a force across the board.

UMary claimed the top 4 spots in the mile, with All-American Elizabeth Acheson leading the pack. Acheson's time of 4:52.85 ranks third in the nation this season. She was closely followed by cross country All-American Alyssa Becker, whose time of 4:53.68 slots her in 5th in the national leaderboard. Both athletes earned NCAA qualifying times. Kristine Kalthoff (5:00.75) and Terez Wycklendt (5:05.53) rounded out the top 4.

Laila Cleare's 7.65 in the 60m dash gave her a second victory this season. She narrowly placed second in the prelims to Minot State's Summer Krebsbach, but shaved a hundredth of a second off her time in the finals to claim the top spot.
