WEST FARGO, ND — Day one of the Dragon Invite concluded with the University of Mary swimming and diving team sitting in fourth place.
The University of Sioux Falls leads all teams with 364 team points, followed by Concordia University, St. Paul (329), Minnesota State University Moorhead (272), UMary (216), University of Jamestown (170) and Concordia College (23).
Madeline Desmond finished runner-up in the 100 yard butterfly after she recorded a time of 58.53. Desmond (2:15.18) also took seventh in the 200 yard backstroke, followed by
Maria Strong (2:15.91) and
Teresa Cavanaugh (2:16.47).
Samantha Sheridan placed third in the 1650 yard freestyle, posting a time of 18:24.67.

Peyton Wunderlich took fourth in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:41.34.
The 200 Yard Medley Relay saw the team of
Madeline Desmond,
Elise Altringer, Strong and Wunderlich place sixth, recording a time of 1:53.28.
The Marauders return for day two of the Dragon Invite on Saturday, January 11. Prelims begin at 10 am, with finals set for 4 pm.
