SIOUX FALLS SD – Another dominant performance by Victoria Murillo earned the University of Mary senior her 12th Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship as she won the 500 free at the 2024 NSIC Championships.
Murillo swam an NCAA Division II B cut time of 4:56.10 to win the 500, over six seconds faster than any other swimmer.
The native of Cancun, Mexico, posted a pair of runner-up finishes the first two days of the NSIC championships.
Jordn Wolsky earned the Marauders five team points as she took 12
th in the 200 fly with a time of 2:15.89. Following right behind was
Mariapocs Ruiz Martinez, who grabbed 13
th after recording a time of 2:15.96.
Mikayla Brackin finished 17
th (2:21.22).
The team of
Michaela Desmond, Maddy Desmond,
Maria Strong and Wolsky posted a seventh-place finish in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:38.31. The group of Allie Elliot, Marina
Conde Revuelto,
Elise Altringer and
Sarah Bernasconi finished 14
th (1:40.96),
Finishing 17
th, 18
th and 19
th in the 100 back were
Teresa Cavanaugh (58.93), Maddy Desmond (59.23) and Strong (59.55).
UMary remains in sixth place after day three with 217 team points. The Marauders finish off the 2024 NSIC Championships on Saturday, February 17, with prelims beginning at 10 am and finals starting at 5:30 pm.
