BURNSVILLE, MN – After an outstanding performance over two days at the Dragon Invite, the University of Mary's
Victoria Murillo was named Northern Sun Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season.
Murillo won five individual events and one relay event to help lead the University of Mary swimming team to a fourth-place finish at the Dragon Invite.
On day one of the event, the Marauders All-American won the 200 breaststroke, recording a time of 2:27.33. Murillo followed that up by winning the 200-medley relay (1:52.17) with her teammates Maddy Desmond,
Jordn Wolsky and
Camille Merimee.
Murillo kicked off day two by winning the 200 free with a time of 1:57.15. The Cancun, Mexico, native then took home the 1000 free, posting a time of 10:58.08. The senior would claim her third event in the 500 free (5:15.24). Murillo finished off her individual events by winning the 50 breaststroke (31.51).
This is the fifth time in her UMary career that Murillo, an 11-time NSIC champion, has earned Northern Sun Swimmer of the Week honors.
The Marauders next compete at home when UMary hosts Concordia College for Senior Day on Saturday, January 20. The meet is slated to start at 1 pm at the BSC Aquatic and Fitness Center.
