Victoria Murillo made team history at the NCAA championships this winter as she became the first University of Mary swimmer to earn first team All-American honors. The Cancun, Mexico, native now has made more team history, this time for her work in the classroom.
The College Sports Communicators (CSC) have selected Murillo to the 2022-23 Academic All-America® Women's Swimming & Diving team for NCAA Division II. A second team choice, Murillo is the first UMary swimmer to earn Academic All-America® honors from CSC (formerly CoSIDA).
Only 34 NCAA Division II swimming & diving scholar-athletes earned this elite academic award (10 on both 1
st and 2
nd teams, 14 on 3
rd team) and just five from the Northern Sun. Murillo is the only NSIC swimmer to claim either 1
st or 2
nd team honors with the other four on the 3
rd team.
A graduate student, Murillo had a 3.65 GPA as an undergraduate in Medical Lab Science and owns a 4.0 GPA while working towards her MBA. Murillo placed 8
th in the 500 yard freestyle at the 2023 NCAA Division II championships to earn All-American honors. She won four NSIC championships in 2023 and was named the Swimmer of the Meet. An 11-time NSIC champion, she was the conference freshman of the year in 2019 and has competed at four NCAA championships.
Murillo joins D'Andra Morris (2021 2nd team, 2022 3rd team track & field), Elizabeth Acheson (2022 3rd team track & field), John Oyloe (2013 Football 1st team), Andrew Beyer (2017 Baseball 3rd team) and Ida Narbuvoll (2021 track & field/cross country 1st team and Academic All-America Team Member of the Year) as CSC/CoSIDA Academic All-Americans in UMary history.

Rylie Webb join Murillo on the 2023 Academic All-District® women's swimming & diving teams, as selected by College Sports Communicators. The Academic All-District® team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom.
DeLegge, a native of El Cajon, CA, owns a 3.89 GPA in criminal justice. A Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award recipient and a three-time NSIC all-academic team member and CSCAA academic scholar-athlete, DeLegge is a conference champion, a three-time all-conference performer and an NCAA championship competitor.
A native of Dickinson, ND, Riely is a native of Dickinson, ND, with a 3.92 GPA in exercise science. Riely is a Northern Sun Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award honoree and a 3-time member of the NSIC all-academic team.
Webb is pursuing a degree in biology and owns a 3.92 GPA. The Minot, ND, native is an All-Northern Sun swimmer in the 200 IM and a 3-time NSIC All-Academic Team selection. She is also a recipient of the NSIC Myles Brand All-Academic with Distinction Award.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District® and All-America® consideration, a scholar-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. Since the program's inception in 1952, CSC has bestowed Academic All-America® honors to student-athletes in Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, covering all NCAA championship sports.
