BURNSVILLE, MN – The Northern Sun awarded 68 University of Mary scholar-athletes NSIC All-Academic honors for the 2021-22 winter sports season. Thirty-nine Marauders were named to the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence and 29 earned NSIC All-Academic Team recognition.
Nineteen Marauders from the women's indoor track & field team, 12 from men's indoor track & field, 11 from wrestling, ten from swimming & diving, ten from women's basketball and six from men's basketball earned NSIC All-Academic team honors recognizing their work in the classroom.
To be eligible for the NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence, a student-athlete must have a 3.60 cumulative GPA or higher, while NSIC All-Academic Team members must have a 3.20 cumulative GPA or higher. Additionally, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
The Northern Sun honored 758 student-athletes with NSIC All-Academic recognition; 466 student-athletes received the Team of Excellence designation and 292 NSIC All-Academic Team honors.
