BISMARCK, ND - The University of Mary wrestling team dominated in the upper weights to win their first match of the year. The Marauders won five of the last six matches to earn a 20-13 non-conference victory at Minot State University.
Jeremy Leintz (125) got things started for the Marauders, taking on Oscar Nellis. Leintz fell to Nellis by a 7-2 decision.
Laken Boese (133) got UMary on the board after he defeated Kelby Armstrong by a 6-3 decision.
Logan Mahoney (141) was up next for the Marauders. He fell to Lincoln Stormer by a 12-4 major decision.
Chandler Mooney (149) lost a close bout to Shadi Mitwalli by a 7-6 decision.
Trailing 10-3,
Anthony Velazquez (157) earned himself a victory, defeating Nathan Baca by a 6-2 decision to start the Marauders rally.

Braydon Huber (165) came up huge for the Marauders as he would defeat Austin Frantzich by technical fall. He led 18-2 when the match was called at the 5:20 mark. Huber's victory earned the Marauders a big five team points and pushed UMary into an 11-10 lead.
Max Bruss (174) continued his winning ways as defeated Noah Gallardo by a 5-0 decision. Bruss remains undefeated through two matches and has yet to allow an opponent to score a point on him this season.
Grant Litke (184) lost to Keegan Berry by a 6-1 decision.
Matt Kaylor (197) got UMary back on track after earning a victory over Dustin Swisher by a 7-2 decision.
Dom Tudor (285) sealed the Marauders win as he captured a thrilling match over Jordan Will. Tudor earned a 4-2 sudden victory over Will to give UMary a 20-13 win over Minot State.
UMary's junior varsity also won their contest 37-13 over Minot State's junior varsity team.
The Marauders next contest is at home where they will take on MSU Moorhead on Thursday, January 21, at 7 pm.
