Biography

2023 (Senior)
Won the Yellowjacket Open at 165 pounds… Finished runner-up in the Younes Hospitality Open… Did not place at NCAA DII Super Regional V due to an injury... Compiled a 15-5 record.

2022 (Junior)
Earned a third straight trip to Nationals after finishing third in the NCAA DII Super Regional V. Just missed out in placing at the 2022 NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships… Took third in the Younes Hospitality Open 2021.

2021 (Junior)
Braydon Huber battled through a tough field at 165 lbs, where he earned an 8-7 record. He avenged
two losses against top ten opponents, the first was against Northern State’s James Burks at the
NCAA Super Regional V and the other was against Shane Gantz of Wisconsin-Parkside at the
NCAA Division II National Tournament. Braydon’s efforts qualified him for a second NCAA
Tournament where he earned his second consecutive All-American honor by taking 8th place at 165
lbs. He was awarded two UMary Wrestling End of the Season Awards; King of the Mat and Wrestler
of the Year. He was also named Male Athlete of the Year for the second straight year by UMary
Athletics.

2020 (Sophomore)
Braydon earned a 27-5 record, earning titles at the Cobber Open and at the Northland Open. Huber only had three Division 2 losses to his name, where he would avenge one of those against James Burks from Northern State, eventually earning NSIC Wrestler of the Week for his performance. Braydon earned an 11-1 dual record, where he reeled in Second Team All-NSIC honors. He earned a second place finish at the NCAA DII Super Regional V and qualified for his first NCAA Championships. He is also the first freshman to qualify for the NCAA Championships in the Division 2 era. He earned the 8th seed at the 2020 NCAA Championships ( the NCAA Tournament was canceled due to COVID-19 ). He is the single season takedown record holder (89). This season he tallied five major decisions, three technical falls, and two pins. Braydon was named an All-American by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. He was awarded multiple UMary Wrestling End of the Season Awards; earning Most Valuable Wrestler, Most Dedicated, King of the Mat, Rookie of the Year, and Wrestler of the Year. He was also named Male Athlete of the Year and Freshman Male Athlete of the Year by UMary Athletics.

2019 (Freshman)
Braydon competed at 149 pounds his first year at UMary. He tallied a 13-2 record, with three pins, three techfalls, and two major decisions. Braydon placed 1st at the Jamestown Open, 1st at the UNK Holiday Inn Open, and 2nd at the Dragon Open.

PRIOR TO UMARY
High School
Braydon attended Post Falls HS in Idaho. He became a two-time team captain, four-time letter winner, and a four-time district champion. As a four-time state finalist, Braydon capped off his career with 159 career wins and a 2018 IHSAA State Champion. He shared in success with his team as a two-time team state champion. Braydon was also a Reno Worlds finalist, and five-time State Freestyle and Greco-Roman champion.  117 career wins… Two-time team captain... Five-time freestyle and Greco Roman state champion.

Braydon, son of Melissa and Brian Huber. Braydon will pursue a degree in Physical Education at the University of Mary.
