2021 (Sophomore)
Chandler was the starter at 149 lbs for the majority of the season. He posted a 1-5 record.
 
2020 (Freshman)
Chandler put together an impressive redshirt season competing at 149 lbs. He took the title at the Jimmie Open and brought home a 6th place finish at the Cobber open (having to default due to a season ending injury). He ended his season with a 9-3 record, earning one major decision and four pins. He earned an End of the Season Award, as his teammates voted him the Wrestler to Watch for the 2019-20 season. 


PRIOR TO UMARY
High School
He attends Roseau High School in Roseau, MN. Chandler has two uncles who competed in college wrestling at NDSU, Wayne Mooney who was a NCAA Division II national champion and two-time All-American and Gabe Mooney who wrestled alongside of UMary Wrestling Head Coach Adam Aho. A future Biology major, Mooney has shown great success in the classroom by earning a 3.95 GPA at Roseau High School. Mooney is already a two-time state medalist in class A (4th in 2017 and 3rd in 2018). He also earned All-American status (4th) this past summer in Fargo competing in the USA Wrestling National Championships in the Greco-Roman style. This upcoming season, he looks to improve on his impressive 151 – 38 record. The 152 lbs wrestler is ranked 3rd in Minnesota Class A to start the season. He enjoys watching the Vikings on Sundays. Mooney will look to compete for the Marauders at 149.

Chandler Mooney is the son of Beth and Scott Mooney. Chandler is studying Biology at the University of Mary.
