SIOUX FALLS, SD – The University of Mary swimming and diving team faced a quick turnaround, competing against Augustana just over 12 hours after completing their meet against SMSU. Augustana was able to best the Marauders for the second time this season, winning 160-102. UMary had 16 top three finishes, including event wins.
The team of
Alyssa Boese,
Rylie Webb, Breena Delegge, and
Victoria Murillo got the dual started for the Marauders with a second place finish in the 400 yard medley with a time of 4:08.97.
In the first individual event of the day,
Andrea Lee claimed third place for the Marauders in the 1650 free with a time of 18:32.29.
Victoria Murillo cruised through the pool in a time of 1:56.97 to claim first in the 200 free.
Alyssa Boese and
Rachel Riedel went 2, 3 in the 100 yard backstroke. Boese finished in second with a time of 1:02.91 and Riedel took third finishing in 1:03.76.
Rylie Webb claimed victory in the 100 yard breaststroke with an impressive time of 1:08.46, besting second place by over two seconds.
Hannah Espinosa took third with a time of 1:11.04.
Delegge flew through the pool in a time of 25.36 to win the 50 yard free with a time of 25.36 seconds. She followed that up with a second place finish in the 100 yard free with a time of 55.38 seconds.
Riedel claimed the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:14.10, besting second place by just a tenth of a second in the highly competitive race.
Webb took second in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:33.14) with Espinosa coming in right behind her in 2:33.69 for third.
Murillo claimed to 500 yard free by 0.07 seconds with a time of 5:14.12, beating Taylor Beagle of Augie.
Andrea Lee took third (5:23.39).
Webb took second in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:19.03.
The Marauders wrapped up the day with a third place finish in the 200 yard free relay. The team of Breena Delegge,
Mackenzie Houston, Mady Scherwinski, and
Victoria Murillo finished in a time of 1:44.65.
The Marauders will race next on November 1 in Aberdeen, SD against Northern State.
