GRAND FORKS, ND – In the final meet prior to the conference championships, the University of Mary men's track & field teams posted some of their top marks of the season and registered two provisional qualifying mark, both in the high jump, at the UND Tune-Up.
Sam Mackedanz and
Shenley Allen headlined the Marauders efforts with sparking marks in the high jump. Both Mackedanz and Allen cleared 2.03 meters. Mackedanz won the meet with a season-best mark. Allen came in second with a lifetime-best performance. Both made the NCAA provisional qualifying standards and are tied for 37
th in the country.
The Marauders also won five other events.
Sophomore
Luxon Glor won the 60 meter dash in 6.96 seconds.
Dallas Horner nudged teammate
Tyrell Rosencranz to claim the long jump title. Horner registered a mark of 6.66 meters with Rosencranz right behind at 6.65 meters.
Rosencranz made up for second in the long jump by winning the triple jump. The sophomore from Spearfish, SD, leaped 13.96 to claim the event. Allen finished second at 13.77 meters.
Two Marauders relays also finished atop the final results. The quartet of
Austin Lucero, Gabe Wylie,
Josh Wulfekuhle and
Teegan Olson claimed the 4 X 400 meter relay in 3:25.81.
The Distance Medley Relay squad of
Jamison Dietrich,
Adam Cebulla,
Sam Wilke and
Derek Myers were victorious in a time of 10:31.84.
The Northern Sun championships are set for Feb. 24-25 in Mankato, MN.
