Biography
2019-2020
As Bree was finishing up her time as a Marauder, her senior year of cross country was plagued with turbulence. However, Bree ran with her fellow Lady Marauders at the NSIC Cross Country Championship to place first as a team. Throughout the Indoor season, Bree was showing promising improvement each meet. She helped the DMR team place second at the conference meet. Also at the NSIC Indoor Championships, Bree ran a personal best time in the 1000m run, placing third in the conference! The women’s team took the NSIC Indoor Conference Championship title, yet again! Bree was set to run the DMR at the NCAA DII Indoor Championships before the meet was cancelled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. She was unsettled by the abrupt end to her track career, so she will be returning in 2021 to finish her last season as a Marauder!
2018-2019
Junior year of Bree’s cross country seasons brought the Lady Marauders dominated with both conference and regional meet titles! She placed 7th and 14th in those meets respectively. Bree snagged the very last spot (40th place) at the NCAA DII Cross Country Championships to help her team place second in the nation for the second year in a row. At the 2019 NSIC Indoor Championship, Bree took first place in the mile run by a lean (.02 seconds) and earned herself a spot to the NCAA Championships! Later that she ran again in the 1000m run to get 4th place. At the NCAA Indoor Championships, Bree found herself succumbed to the strategic racing style of championship level races. Outdoor track season brought highs and lows, but Bree was able to place second in the 1500m at the NSIC Conference Championship by working a tactical race with teammate Taylor Hestekin! The Marauder ladies took the conference titles in Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track, for the second year in a row to score the Triple Crown for the 2018-19 year.
2017-2018
During Bree's Sophomore year at Mary, she earned All-Conference Honors by placing 10th at the 2017 NSIC Cross Country Championships. She scored a 19th place finish at the Central Region Cross Country Championships to earn All-Region Honors. Bree finished out cross country by racing her first National Cross-Country Championship and placed 55th out of 247 athletes to help her team score National Runners Up. Her season was topped off by earning NSIC All-Academic Honors for 2017 fall sports. In indoor track, Bree finished 2nd place in the 1,000-meter race and contributed to a Conference Title in the DMR. At indoor nationals, she ran the 1200-meter leg of the DMR to help her relay place 4th in the nation. The marauder ladies also placed 4th in the nation as team. Bree ran a great outdoor season, taking the Conference Title in the 1500-meter race and earning herself a trip to the national outdoor meet. She also ran the 800-meter run to place 4th at the conference meet. Bree completed her sophomore year by competing at the national outdoor meet for the first time and receiving NSIC All-Academic Honors. The Marauder ladies took the conference titles in Cross Country, Indoor Track and Outdoor Track, scoring the Triple Crown for the 2017-18 year.
2016-2017
Bree found success in track and field during her Freshman year of being a Marauder. At the 2017 NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championships she placed 3rd in the Women's 1,000-meter race, earning her All-Conference Honors. Also, she contributed to a Distance Medley Relay 2nd place finish to achieve another All-Conference Honor. At the 2017 National Indoor Track meet, Bree and her team placed 12th in the DMR. During the NSIC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Bree ran the Women’s 1,500-meter race to place 2nd and earn All-Conference Honors. She finished off her freshman year at Mary by achieving All-Academic Honors in Women's Track and Field.
PRIOR TO UMARY
Bree is one of three daughters of Kristopher and Summer Erickson. She was a proud Bluejacket at Cambridge-Isanti High School in Cambridge, Minnesota. In 7th grade Bree started Track and Field and continued to run distance/middle-distance events through her senior year of high school. She lettered all 6 years of Track and was captain her senior year. During her sophomore year of high school, Bree dual-sported in the fall season: playing soccer and running her first year of cross country. In cross country, she lettered all three years, was a two-time state participant, and was a captain her junior and senior year. Bree achieved several honors in high school, but most importantly cherishes the memories made with her teammates and coaches. She graduated in Spring 2019 with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics and is continuing her education for a Master of Science in Business to get a job as an analyst.
