DULUTH, MN – University of Mary men's track and field had two All-NSIC finishers, including an NSIC title, on day two of the conference championships. Additionally, nine track athletes qualified for the finals in their events.
Caleb Hansen started the day with an individual title, winning the 10,000m with a PR of 31:02.63. He is the first men's track member to win a distance event at the conference championships since 2019. Josiah Demaris scored team points with a 7
th place finish at 31:51.45.
The Decathlon concluded on Friday with
Charles Tomczik getting on the podium in 4
th place with a PR of 6159, outscoring his previous best by nearly 400 points. He earned PRs in the 110m Hurdles (15.84), 400m (50.47), 1500m (5:00.76), and High Jump (1.79m). He won the Long Jump at 6.68m.
Lucas Kupfer had a strong day with an All-NSIC finish in the High Jump, clearing 2.08m. He then landed on the podium in the Long Jump, finishing 8
th with a 7.12m leap.
Jake Hettinger placed 5
th in the Shot Put with a season-best mark of 16.55m.
Dawson Hawkinson (10.57) and
Mark DeArmond (10.60) both qualified for tomorrow's 100m Final.
All-American
Kenny Moxey Jr. qualified for the finals in the 110m Hurdles with a PR of 14.64 going into the wind.
Xavier Ifill (21.40) and
Mark DeArmond (21.47) qualified for the finals in the 200m.
NSIC Indoor Freshman of the Year
Nathan Andrews will be competing in the 400m Finals tomorrow after a PR of 47.74.
UMary will send three athletes to the 800m Finals as
Gideon Hammah (1:51.56),
Joseph Ringhand (1:53.25), and
Ian Butman (1:54.84) all qualified. Ringhand and Butman's times were personal bests.
