SIOUX FALLS, SD – The University of Mary men's golf B team had a day to remember at the Augustana Spring Invite, tying the hosting Augustana's A team for first place.
Dawson Melbo led the way, winning the individual title for the first time in his career.
All 36 holes were played today at Elmwood Golf Course and Melbo was consistently successful throughout. The junior had 10 birdies through the two rounds, finishing with a 141 (-3) to secure the victory. He spearheaded an effort from the B team that earned UMary its first team title of the season.
Joining Melbo in the top-five was
Quinn Breidenbach in 4
th place at 147 (+3) and
Ryker Landers in 5
th place, scoring a 148 (+4). Both golfers were representing the A team.
Evan Booth placed 10
th at 150 (+6) to bolster the B team's efforts.
Lucas Greenlun helped that cause in 16
th with a 152 (+8). Rounding out the B team's scoring was
Aiden Knodel in 22
nd with a 153 (+9).
Payton Hiller (153, +9) and
Lucas Schoepp (160, +16) rounded out the A team's scoring in 22
nd and 40
th respectively.
