Breidenbach in top 20 after Day 1 of NSIC Championship

SMITHVILLE, MO – After 18 holes of play at the NSIC Championship, the University of Mary men's golf team is in 8th. Quinn Breidenbach had a solid opening round and is in a tie for 17th.

Breidenbach, a sophomore, is currently 3 over par with 75 strokes. He achieved a pair of birdies on day one of the three-day meet.

One stroke behind him is Lucas Schoepp, whose two birdies helped him finish at 76 (+4) on the first day. He currently sits in 23rd in a competitive field.

Dawson Melbo, who is coming off his career-best weekend, is at 77 (+5) in 27th. Like his two teammates, he knocked in a pair of birdies.

Freshman Payton Hiller rounded out the team scoring at 82 (+10) to place 45th after 18 holes.
