SMITHVILLE, MO – An eight-stroke improvement on the final day of the NSIC Championship helped University of Mary men's golf move up two spots in the standings, finishing 6
th in the conference for the second year in a row.
Quinn Breidenbach was the top individual finisher for the Marauders. He ended his time in Missouri with an even par 72 in the final round with three birdies. His final score was 221 (+5) as he placed 11
th overall.
Aiden Knodel had a heroic performance as a substitute on the final day. The junior stepped in with an even par 72 highlighted by a pair of birdies.
Lucas Schoepp moved up one spot in the standings to 25
th, finishing with a 229 (+13). He birdied on his final hole to help the Marauders secure a 6
th-place finish.
Dawson Melbo did the same thing. A birdie on the final hole secured a 30
th-place finish for him. The junior finished with a 232 (+16) to round out the team scoring.
Payton Hiller capped off his freshman year in 36
th with a 236 (+20).

After leading the Marauders to the best conference finish during his tenure for the second year in a row,
Laif Olson will be stepping down as the men's golf head coach. He plans on continuing to support the program in retirement.
