BISMARCK, ND – A dozen seniors from the University of Mary track and field program were recognized today at the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, ND, as part of the UMary Senior Day Open. Competition-wise, the Marauders won both the men's and women's meets.
The top performance of the day came from sophomore
Lucas Kupfer, who reached a 2.11m mark in the High Jump. That is tied for the 8
th best score in the nation and is the best in the NSIC. Kupfer's previous best was 2.06m.
Laila Cleare battled the wind to win the 100m at 11.95.
Mark DeArmond won the men's race with a 10.65.
DeArmond went on to win the 200m with a time of 22.12.
Savana Sanchez picked up the win in the women's race at 25.29.
Nathan Andrews hit a PR in the 400m, winning the race at 48.38.
Tayen Werner won on the women's side with an NCAA provisional time of 54.84.
Kelescia Downes (55.02) and
Tionce Walrond (55.45) also achieved provisional marks.
Bernadette Belzer ran a personal best in the 400m Hurdles at 1:02.42 to win the event.
Jack Koppelsloen won on the men's side with a 55.18.
Sean Erickson continued his great season with a 52.78m throw in the Discus. He maintained his spot of 20
th in the nation while improving his season-best mark by 0.26m.
Siena Lambert won the women's Discus with a personal best of 44.93m.
Anna Nasset took home the win in the women's High Jump at 1.54m.
Multi-athlete
Preston Lemar won the Javelin with a personal best throw of 56.79m.
Logan Wentz had the best Long Jump of his career with a PR of 7.35m. The senior now ranks 36
th in the nation in the event.
Anna Bruno also hit an NCAA provisional mark with a 6.02m jump, tying her season best and maintaining her spot of 17
th in the nation.
Bruno also won the Triple Jump with an 11.44m leap.
Will Mickelson was victorious in the men's competition at 13.65m.

Xavier Ifill teamed up to win the 4x100m Relay with a time of 40.75, narrowly missing out on an NCAA provisional time. An NCAA provisional time was achieved by
Tionce Walrond,
Kelescia Downes,
Tayen Werner, and
Laila Cleare at 45.65. They remain 11
th in the nation with their season best time of 45.20.
