DAY 1 RECAP

MANKATO, MN – University of Mary women's track and field placed 2nd at the NSIC Indoor Championships for the third consecutive season. In total, the Marauders had five victories and five additional All-NSIC performances.

Kristine Kalthoff had a phenomenal day, winning both the 3000m and Mile to bring home her first-ever individual conference titles. The senior accumulated 30.5 team points across the two days of competition to earn the title of High Point Performer for the meet, outscoring eight schools by herself. Her 9:55.41 in the 3000m was a personal best.

The Mile victory was decided by just 0.04 seconds, as Kalthoff held off a late push from Winona State's Kylie Anderson. Joining the senior on the podium was Giselle Jahner in 7th with a personal best of 5:03.98, and Terez Wycklendt in 8th at 5:04.00.

Tayen Werner took the top spot in the 400m Dash with a time of 55.23, winning her first individual conference title. The sophomore was joined by fellow sophomore Kelescia Downes, who placed 2nd with a 55.68.

Werner and Downes were paired up in the 4x400m Relay with Aspen Eslinger and Tionce Walrond. Trailing by over two seconds heading into the final leg, Werner made up the deficit and came away with the victory, finishing with a time of 3:50.248.

Laila Cleare had runner-up finishes in a pair of events to earn All-NSIC honors. Her time of 7.43 in the 60m Dash was a season-best, and the senior is now 13th in the nation in the event. Cleare also had a season-best in the 200m Dash at 24.54, placing her 23rd in the nation.

Amber Rosemeier battled hard to earn All-Conference honors in the 800m, placing 3rd with a time of 2:15.32. That was less than 0.2 seconds ahead of the 4th-place finisher.

Both of UMary's entries in the Pentathlon, Kaydee Boyce and Anna Rader, finished on the podium. Rader placed 6th with an NCAA provisional mark of 3319, ranking 56th in the nation. She was propelled by PRs in both the 60m Hurdles (9.20) and High Jump (1.57m). Boyce placed 8th at 3156, cutting three seconds off her 800m PR at 2:39.79.

Bernadette Belzer scored points in the 600m Dash, placing 6th with a 1:38.29.

Terez Wycklendt earned conference points with a 7th-place finish in the 1000m, clocking in at 3:05.42.

After an All-NSIC finish in the Long Jump yesterday, Anna Bruno set a new PR in the Triple Jump at 11.51m. That was enough to get her onto the podium in 8th place.
