BISMARCK, ND – With six individual winners across eight events and a relay victory, the University of Mary women's track and field team won the Marauders 2026 Indoor Opener at home.
Anna Bruno had a strong day, earning her first-ever win in the 60m Dash with a PR of 7.78. Bruno also took home the win in her usual event, the Long Jump, with a 5.73m leap.
Kristine Kalthoff took home a pair of wins in the Mile and the 1000m. The senior set a PR in the 1000m with a 3:02.84 and had a season-best time of 5:04.02 in the Mile.
Tayen Werner continued her strong season with a victory in the 200m at 25.04. The Canadian sophomore has yet to lose this year.
Grace Brandt earned her first victory of the year in the 300m, finishing with a 41.86.
In her second try at the 400m this season, sophomore
Kelescia Downes was victorious with a season best time of 56.93. That places her 14
th in the nation in the event.
Freshman
Faith Jepchumba took home her first career win with a 10:49.31 in the 3000m.
UMary also won the 4x300m Relay, with the team of
Mya Nishimura,
Grace Brandt,
Bernadette Belzer, and
Tayen Werner setting a school record with a 2:48.85.
